Looked all over, read tons of threads and msgs but still no idea whats really happened. If somebody can help i'd really appreciate it.
All my pic msgs come in as only saying '5=' with the msg part usually blank or 'FWD' and no picture at all. Won't allow me to view, delete, lock, unlock reply or forward. Any attempts to reply or forward create a draft msg which also cannot be viewed or deleted. My phone is filling up with these garbage msgs which will soon lock up my inbox so time is becoming an issue too. I can't see who sent it so even though i've told most of my friends to stop sending pic msgs till i can get it fixed but every day a couple ppl still send them and i have no idea who it is since i cant read the msg so i can't ask them to stop.
Tried from safe/known/friends phones and they all come in the same way.
It all started a day or two after my GF got online looking at random stuff from my phone so i'm thinking maybe she picked up a virus?
Cricket says it is a virus and i have to buy a new phone.
I had an independent phone tech reflash it but he said that would just set all my settings back and would not reinstall the original programming. He was correct. Still doing the same thing.
Something has happened to the code that handles pic msgs and i'd like to be able to restore it if possible.
Any suggestions?
TIA

I doubt it's a vrius go into secuity (code, last 4 of phone #) and see if you can delete all the messages at once, if not you need to wipe the phone, there are two types of resets, I think that tech just did a factory reset that just puts the setting back to there orginal state. You need to do the reset that deletes everything in the phone and factory resets it. So backup your phone book first. If that doesn't work try to get that tech to do a software upgrade, the problem with that is i don't think cricket made a upgrade so you will be geting the same version and the program that he uses to flash it backup and restores everything automaticly so the problem may still be there. you have a one year samsung warranty you can use if you didn't voide it in some way.
