SGH-a256 driver

Trying to find a driver that works with this phone. Has anyone found anything? I tryed using samsungs program but wont work with this model. I would like to add my own pics, ringtones etc to the phone.

There is a way, there is a program by sony erricson that allows you to take a mp3 ringtone and make it a protected file, which they have to be to upload em. Im at work right now but when I get home ill let you know everything. What I do after they are protected is I send myself an e-mail with the protected ringtone atttached and I check the email from the phone and download the attachment. It wont work unless it is protected file I forget what it was but ill find out later today. and you can do the same thing with pictures as well.

Ill help you out tonight unless someone else here knows what im talking about and helps you sooner, but the cable was a waste of $$$ for now anyways

Got this phone like a week ago and took lots of nice pictures with it. I would like to download them to my pc, but nor the bluetooth nor the USB cable works with this. Tried all available Samsung software and none can recognize it. Sending them to email is expensive and also beats the purpose of the images because they are resized from 640x480 to 320x240 and are horribly compressed to fit into MMS constraints. Actually I'm starting to think that Rogers simply wanted people to send the photos using the MMS only. I hate them already.

Ok Sandee. Here we go.

Go on google and search "sony Erricson DRM pakager"

Download the SONY ERRICSON DRM PAKAGER and install it. link above (free)

after install add the ringtone file or picture.

Then click "Create DRM Content"
(its really quick)

Now from your computer E-mail the DRM ringtone file and attach it.

Now go onto the web from your phone, access your e-mail that you just sent yourself and download the file on your phone.

Thats it.

I know, I bought the cable thinking it would be like anyother usb device and show up as a removable drive so I can access the files. NOPE not at all. Rogers did it cause they didnt want people to upload copywrite images, ringtones etc. as far as uploading content to the computer I havnt figured it out yet. OH and what I hate is there is no SD card slot. although micro SD is implante inside.

So did anyone try the SONY ERRICSON DRM PAKAGER mentioned above? How about that or can anyone introduce other good drivers?

Is there any support number I can call and make a hell for the people at Rogers?
I've been using Rogers for a few days but they are really trying hard so that people start hating them.

I have and it does work. the files need to have the DRM file extension.

friends, New PC Studio 1.3.0 IH4 works great with my SGH-A256..... i already uploaded mp3 files but I cant use it as a ring tone...i'll try to comvert this to DRM file as what being said by one of the poster above... enjoy...

Hey, yes, I can confirm that using version 1.3.0 IH4 it recognizes the samsung hype. Works well.
