I have a T479 Galaxy 3 phone I just bought yesterday. I am trying to sync it up with my Windows 7 Ultimate PC via bluetooth. The bluetooth on my PC works fine syncing to my Palm PDA and the cellphone syncs to the Palm PDA as well. This is how I know the the bluetooth on the PC is working and the bluetooth on the cell phone is working.
When I scan for new devices from the PC, it sees the Galaxy 3 (as well as my Palm PDA), but when it tries to connect, it gives me an "authentication failed" error. It is supposed to send a prompt to the cell phone for authentication, but the cell phone never gets it.

The bluetooth device on my PC is listed as follows:
Broadcom 2046 Bluetooth 2.1+EDR USB Dongle with First Connect
Location: Port_#0003.Hub_#0003
Driver Date: 09/30/2010
Driver Version: 6.3.0.6700
Address: 00:02:72:a7:aa:74
Manufacturer ID: 15
HCI Version: 4.21298
LMP Version: 4.16910
Device Status: This device is working properly.
There is another driver on my PC for this bluetooth device. It is:
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
Driver Date: 06/21/2006
Driver Version: 6.1.7600.16385
I just downloaded the newest USB driver from Broadcom and that is the info shown above.
I don't know what all this info means, but that is what is written on my driver page.
Ideas?
