Samsung A177: Forgot password

So I forgot my password to log into my phone when i turn it on.
Can anybody help me?

The default password for your phone would be “0000” or “00000000”.
Otherwise, call Samsung Customer support 888-987-4357.
10 incorrect entry in a row will invaildate your SIM.
You will need a new SIM if you see this:"PUK blocked call operator."

I tried them both and it says wrong password. I know it is a password i set but for the life of me, I cannot remember. I've tried over 10 times also, and doesn't say anything about PUK blocked call operator. I don't understand the whole unlocked phone thing but would it work for me?

To undo the hard lock try the hard reset. To reset Samsung A177 hard reset press *2767*3855#..
take out SIM card before you do a hard rest.
Use this method to hard reset your Samsung A177 phone: Enter *2767*3855#. Warning! All your data including contacts, messages etc. will be lost! Copy all your necessary data/Contacts/Messages etc. to SIM or make backup to your PC before full reset! Take out SIM card before full reset.

Go to Menu by pressing the right soft key
Select ‘Settings’
Opt ‘Restore Phone’
To confirm ‘OK’, press the left soft key Enter the default password, then press ‘OK’
Confirm the password, then press ‘OK’
