Can't connect t340 to computer

I have a Samsung t340 through StraightTalk. I bought the data cable for it, I've registered the phone on Samsung's support site. I have Samsung PC Studio 3 and Samsung New PC Studio and I can't connect with either one.

I have tried it with my phone set to USB mode and I have tried it with my phone set to "mass storage" -- neither way works.

Any help would be appreciated!

What operating system do you have? If you have windows go to control panel > device manager while the phone is plugged in and see if there is anything with a yellow icon with ! inside it beside one of the usb controllers. (it'll probably say 'unknown device' too) If there is then the drivers aren't installed correctly.
