Samsung Focus S I937 at&t phone not unlockable?

I want to use the samsung phone with my straight talk service and at&t claims over the phone it is not compatible but can you just go online and get a few instructions to unlock it? I already have an at&t sim from my iphone 3gs at&t phone that fits. at&t service would cost probably double that of straight talk too. Thank you for your help I just never heard of any phone not being unlockable but I am a non-techie so please go easy:-) Thank you!
