    Hi,
I bought this phone used & locally from a private party.

It is for Cricket. I plan to give it to someone else who uses cricket.

Whoever had this phone before, did not remove his phone number in the settings: (about phone>status>my phone number).

I redid a factory reset AND a HARD reset on the phone myself but it wont erase his former phone number.

Why wont it go away? Is there another type of reset that will erase his number? Everything else is gone (contacts, apps, etc); just not his number.

What can I try. Samsung cricket vitality SCH-R720
    Thanks in advance.....

I think you will need to manually program the phone, so that you can write your own phone number to it. But can you make any phone calls, is it activated?

This cell has no service so not calls or nothing can be used except my wifi. I bought this from a third party in a bundle of 2 other phones.

I wanted to give this vitality to someone who has cricket. But she just confirmed to me that she doesnt like touchscreen only phones as this one. So, I will just resell it.

But I prefer to resell this without any info on it; meaning the former owners phone number. I dont know anything about this phone, but online research states it can be a pre-pay phone. Dont know if that makes a difference.
ANy ideas how to go into the OS, for example, of the phone and erase the number?

    Thanks in advance
