How-to: Samsung Galaxy Exhibit: Messaging, Part 2 – Blocking / Unblocking and Managing Messages

Deleting Messages (SMS / MMS):

1. Tap the "Messaging" app located on the home screen
2. Choose one of the following:
   
   
   • If you wish to delete an entire conversation thread:
     
     1. Tap and hold the desired conversation thread
     2. Select "Delete thread" and confirm by pressing "OK"
   • If you wish to delete an individual message:
     
     1. Tap the conversation thread that contains the message you wish to delete
     2. Tap and hold the desired message
     3. Select "Delete message"
     4. Press "OK" to confirm

Blocking Messages or Spam From a Phone Number:

1. Tap the "Messaging" app located on the home screen
2. Tap the "Menu" button
3. Select "Settings"
4. Tap the "Spam settings" checkbox if necessary
5. Press "Register number as spam"
6. Tap "Create"
7. Enter the desired number manually, or tap the "Contacts" icon and select the saved contact that you wish to block
8. Press "Save" when finished

Note: There's a secondary method of blocking messages from one particular number, by accessing the text message itself:

1. Open the "Messaging" app
2. Tap and hold the conversation thread associated with the number that you wish to block
3. Select "Add to spam numbers" then press "OK"

Unblocking Messages from a Phone Number:

1. Tap the "Messaging" icon located on the home screen
2. Press the "Menu" key on your device
3. Select "Settings"
4. If necessary, tap the checkbox associated with "Spam settings"
5. Tap and hold the desired number then select "Delete"
6. Confirm by pressing "OK"

Note: to unblock a number directly from the text conversation:

1. Access the "Messaging" app
2. Tap and hold the conversation thread associated with the blocked number
3. Select "Remove from spam numbers"

Finding Out Your SMS Service Center Number:

1. Tap the "Messaging" icon
2. Press the "Menu" button on your device
3. Select "Settings"
4. Tap "Message center"
