I'm trying to learn how to add a .wav voice sample, over an existing midi track, then convert them into a .mmf file to use on my Samsung E715.

I know this is possible- I have a couple I downloaded off the 'net that sound awesome, they are not simple .wav's converted to .mmf (which is easy btw), but these are just the vocal words in simple .wav format added to a great midi track, then saved as .mmf's.

What software and insructions are needed to do this? I've tried the yamaha smaf tools- and the .pdf doc is written very poorly- and I'm unable to do some of the things it shows as examples... Couldn't figure it out.

    PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN
    Thanks,

I don't want to convert only a .wav file to .mmf- I want to add a .wav sample over a midi track then convert to .mmf- and get the midi quality music as well as the .wav sample vocals.

I have a few .mmf's done like this, and they are truly amazing and small... 30-35+ seconds at <20k and sound amazing.

As an update, cakewalk pro audio 9 does allow you to import .wav files over midi tracks... HOWEVER, it will not save as a .mid file!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMNIT!

    Now what?

Once you figure it out, let me know! If I do, I'll certainly get at you. Once I know how to make 15 sec. good quality voice (dead) ringtones under 40kb, I'll be happy

I dont know what you found out already , but i found thist japanese site dealing with inserting wavs for drum samples. (or so it seems) maybe if you try to run it through Altavista's Babelfish you can get a few hints from it , im still at a loss.
