e715 Recall

My friend just talked to a 611 rep on Tmobile about the crappy bettery life and she said this phone was recalled a week ago for software issues and to buy another phone. meaning the software is causing the decrease in its battery life.. pretty much sucks since i was thinking about getting this phone

I talked to about 5 people at tmobile regarding this and NONE have confirmed that the phone was recalled. Usually a recall means that the phone presents some danger to the customer and a software/firmware bug would not qualify it for a recall. Can't they just send some sort of signal to the phones at TMobile to see which are E715's with the buggy software and download the firmware upgrade onto the phone? I think VoiceStream used to do this (not sure though).

i also have a e715 and there's rumors about the recall not actually confirmed. i haven't had problem yet. also, people who have been experiencing problems have been people with the batch of cell phones with the firmware of v1.9. the 1.8v seems to have less problems. you can check firmware by presing *#9999#.

I found this on another thread. To check battery charge on the e715 you press *#0228# then press up. This gives a % value. The only thing is the front lcd indicator may have no bars but the % will show around 50%. Yet my phone still gives the low battery tone. I have f/w 1.8 and a new battery sent from Samsung. I hope there is a recall.

What does that mean exactly. I have a samsung e715 and I go on T-Zones and it would just go to a gray screen and then turn off. Sometimes, all my ringtones, graphics, and games will be deleted. This has happened 3-4 times. Also I end the conversation and when I flip it closed, the phone will turn off. My battery sux. I had to buy 2 other one's but their flashing batteries.
