Sanyo is Honda of phones?

A sprint salesman tried to tell me that "Sanyo is like the Honda of phones." I think that Samsung phones are better. What do you guys think?

as far as the USA market goes, sanyo has an edge on samsung, I've had 3 sanyo and 2 samsung. and sanyo have better compatibility when transfering data to your pc.

I have a Sanyo 4900, I use to have a Samsung N-400. I dont like the fact the sanyo isn't flip, it's not loud enough, and it's too big. It does get good reception though, much better than the N-400. My N-400 also had software problems. It kept freezing on me.

I had a 4900, granted the screen was'nt to good and it wasn't a flip. But it was also one of Sprints first 3G phones, and had awesome reception and battery life. And now almost ALL of Sanyo phones are flip and weigh only 3/4 of what samsung phones weigh. Sanyo phones have a better OS and are more reliable and better stability (not to mention also more hackable).

Samsung = M$
Sanyo = Linux

I have a Sanyo 8100 and it is strong and keeps goin, ever since it entered my hands on December 26 2003. I am a 2nd generation Sanyo owner. I had a 4900 from Feb 24 2003 and i accidently smashed the screen and got a free replacement on July 03 2003. Please don't buy a Samsung, they aint as good as Sanyo.

For 2004, Sanyo was ranked #1 in the US in customer satisfaction by JD Power & Assoc. In part it said:

This is huge in the US for Sprint since Sanyo is exclusive to Sprint in the US market. Users with other carriers will begin to ask "how come my carrier doesn't even give me these phones as an option? They are #1 and I don't even get to choose them if I want them? What's up with that?"

Sanyo seems to have better radios (i.e. better reception). However if you area has strong coverage, I would base it on the feature set and looks.

I've never had a Sanyo cell phone, but when I bought a GE/Sanyo brand earpiece for my Nokia 3120, it sounded like a piece of crap. Way worse than the Nokia earpiece I had on my old Nokia 8290. I promptly returned that Sanyo merchandise.

sanyos are pretty nice

i think its better than samsung

samsung has an idiot proof interface i think. it's very simple to use.
when it comes to built quality, i think sanyo is top notch.

I have both the Samsung n200 and the Sanyo 6400. I like both, but my Samsung seems to be taking a beating better. Babysitting 3 kids under 10 , my phone is subject to massive abuse. I like the features of the Sanyo better but I keep switching back to my samsung because it keeps scratching too easily. Just curious though, is saying it's the Honda of cell phones meant as a compliment? LOL. Sorry, but someone who works for Nissan wouldn't take that as a compliment.
