I have a bunch of MP3 files where I have edited 30 second chunks that I want to use as ringtones, but can't figure out how to convert them to a format that can be used on the PM8200, maybe 8100, and SCP5500? I have an account at FreeRingers.net but their "polyphonic relay" option claims that a file MUST be MID format, it will not send MP3.
I've also downloaded a bunch of trial software that supposedly convert MP3 to MID but they are all trash.
Any pointers? Thanks.

i'm not sure about the 5500, but i know that the 8100 and 8200 cannot play mp3. they would have to be converted to .qcp files. i think the program to do that is purevoice.
but .qcp files arent very clear or loud. i prefer to stick with basic midi files (i have the 8200). i dont think there is a program out there that will convert an mp3 to mid.
