I bought a USB cable for my VI2300. I am running windows 98. I plugged it in, and when it prompted for the drivers I put in the driver disk, but it won't find the drivers. It says there is none. I tried this for quite a few hours. So finally I tried to manually install them. When I searched for new hardware it showed up as Sanyo USB modem. Which is what I was told it should show up as. Then I tried to load the drivers and it loaded some drivers...not really sure if it was the right ones lol. But anyways. It showed up in my device manger under modem and said it was working properly and all. I checked the drivers and it claims to have loaded a driver from my disc. And I keep getting like a million different options on how to load it and where to load it. But it won't work. I downloaded Bitpim and it won't connect. I changed the phone to something else because I was also told that the VI2300 has issues with bitpim, so I am supposed to lie to it and tell it I have a 7300 or something like that. I checked the ports and everything. In the device manager it says it's installed in com2, so I made sure bitpim looked at com2. I just can't get it to work! I am wondering if maybe it is not the phone/drivers, but my computer that has the issues? One of my friends said something about my finding out if my phone is usb 1.1 or usb 2.0 compatible because 1.1 has issues with windows 98, but 2.0 won't run on 98 unless I buy some kind of pc card. Now I have no clue what the hell they are talking about! Someone please help me!!!! I have been at this for 3 days now to no avail. Can someone please tell me if the issue is my computer and not the phone/drivers. And how to find out what compatibilty my phone is 1.1 or 2.0? Or if none of that even matter just help me LOL! I have been reading this forum for a few days now trying to get as much info as I can. But still can't get it to work. Someone also said something about an automatic driver installer? Would that help? And where can I get it if so?

Re: Sanyo VI2300, help with USB cable.

I finally got the damn thing to work! It wasn't my usb ports or my phone. I'm not exactly sure what the hell the problem was lol, it just suddenly worked. I tried one final time to install the drivers and viola...it worked. Kinda weird, but ah well lol.
