MobileSyrup has it that the Pro-200 and Pro-700 are headed to Bell Canada in less than a month. These handsets have the rugged look and the availability of Bluetooth, GPS, a speakerphone and 3G data connectivity.
The costs for the phones are estimated to be around $149.95 for Pro-200 and $349.95 depending on the contract obligations and $50.00 more for the Pro-700

Re: Sanyo Pro-200 and Pro 700

    I have a Pro-700.

    Good:
-The most durable phone EVER. I have thrown mine at a walls trying to hit someone, full strength, ZERO damage to phone. It's probably bulletproof.
    -Direct Connect Works Flawlessly
    -Picture Mail works well.
    -E-mail is well integrated.

    Bad:
-Phone-As-Modem is capped @ 230k connection speed through Sprint/Sanyo phone drivers. It locks the port speed. As of yet, I haven't found a way to hack the .sys files, it caps the speed at installation. I cannot get more than 100k downloads, when on my previous Sanyo phones I was getting 1 to 2 megs.
-Navigation devours battery like it's Original Chex Mix, and the car charger can't keep up. Plus, your favorites get deleted whenever Navigation updates, and you can't stop navigation updates, and still use the GPS. Also, the GPS is stupid, it will tell you to turn left, then make a U-turn, instead of just turning right. It does that constantly.
    -No Camera.
-The e-mail for the phone is compatible with G-mail, but it sporadically delivers the e-mails.
    -No .mp3 capability.
    -No Media Player.
    -Uber Limited Bluetooth capabilities
-Mobile browser cannot properly format any website, even mobile specific ones. Constant SSL errors.

--**And here's the worst part. It's a Nextel phone on a Sprint network. So the Sprint people have absolutely no idea how to connect it to any Sprint service, on top of their already vast knowledge of nothing. ****Plus Sprint to Sprint calls often go directly to voice mail because your on the Nextel network for Direct Connect, or you get one ring, even with 6 bars. If you set the phone to roam, it never uses the PCS network, and if you set to PCS only, it seldom delivers incoming calls, voice mails, and texts in a timely fashion. I've gotten text messages 5 hrs after they were sent, and direct to voice mail from A person with a Sprint phone 5 feet away from where I was standing.

    BUT:
-I have always used Sanyo phones, this was the only one to ever disappoint me. I suspect it has a lot to do with the use of the Nextel Network instead of PCS, because it's a Nextel phone.

    ALSO
-Every update I have recieved on the phone actually made things worse, never once fixing the existing problems. They seem to increase the limitations on the phones capabilities, locking out or deleting more and more of the phones firmware.

I say: buy it if you drop your phone alot or work in construction.
