Sanyo SCP-3200 charging port problem

My wife has a Sanyo SCP-3200 pink phone. The problem is this. On the bottom of the phone, there are two inputs. The charger that came with the phone has a circular plug that plugs into the the circular hole. There is another input that is right next to the circular hole one that is a standard on most car charger plugs. When I plug the car charger into the standard input for it, the light on the charger comes on, but the phone will not charge. Is it possible the the circular plug is the only one that will allow the phone to be charged? If this is indeed the case, where in the world would you buy a car charger with a circular plug? is the car charger specifically for that phone? It's possible that the connectors in that port are dirty and the connection just isn't being made to charge the battery. It looks like this, right?

Do a Google Search for Sanyo SCP-3200 car chargers.
You will get many hits for Sanyo SCP-3200 car chargers that cost less than a dollar.
No circular plugs noted

I may try to clean the rectangular port to see if that would help. But yes, it is the car charger that is suppose to fit, but only the rectangular plug. Her regular charger that plugs in the wall fits in the circular plug hole in the phone which is right next to the rectangular one.

Yes, the wall charger plugs into the circular port right next to the standard rectangular port. As I mentioned before, the car charger has a standard rectangular plug that plugs into the rectangular port on the phone this is the port that will not work. And yes "tavenger 5", that is indeed the car charger in question. I didn't see the photo yesterday. Thanks for the reply!
