My husband and I both use iPhone 4S. This afternoon, my husband called me and said that he just received a call from me and when he picked up he heard some guy's voice. He said there was my call ID on his iPhone with my photo as he always get my call, and not only him but his coworker also listened to the guy's voice, for 3 minutes.
But I DIDN'T MAKE THAT PHONE CALL, nor was with some guy!!!! I was just alone, walking on the street to go to a bank.

When I checked my call log, of course there wasn't any record of my phone making the call to him. And also on his phone, there wasn't the log or any record of his phone receiving the call from me.

But he insists that he received the call, and heard the Japanese guy talking.(I'm Japanese, but have not a single Japanese speaking boy friend in USA. He can't understand Japanese and nor his coworker, but his coworker insisted that it was Japanese language. His coworker is married to Chinese-Vietnamese women and has the experience living in Taiwan, but you know, apparently, they don't use Japanese language.)
I know that there are techniques to imitate someone's call ID, but it's spooky and annoying because whoever did this not only imitating my number but also called my husband, not just anyone else.

Can anyone has any idea why could this happen? Is my phone or his phone hacked?

Wow, this sounds like an awful experience, and quite confusing, especially for your husband.

There is something called caller ID spoofing. Someone just makes it look like they are calling from a number. Since your number is in your husband's phone, his phone will think the call is coming from you, and pop up your photo and your name and everything. But really the person only had to know the number.

I doubt it had anything to do with you. They probably just chose a random number to spoof. I wouldn't worry about it, unless it happens again.

I would love to know what the purpose of a scam like this is. I have heard of it happening before, but I don't see the point.
