My husband received a call from someone in South Carolina yelling at him and saying that my husband broke his car and left his phone number. We live in Texas... And the weirdest thing is that my husband is french and the man was speaking french. My husband hung up after a couple minutes because he was so confused and obviously did not break anyone's car. Then, three minutes later, MY phone rang and it was another North Carolina number, but slightly different. I did not pick up, but we both got really worried. What is going on?? How do these people have both our numbers and what are they trying to do??

Did you do a search on the phone numbers to see if others are getting similar calls? You may be able to trace the numbers too.

It is most likely people wasting your time by call spoofing. I wouldn't worry about it. Generally, these people will eventually ask for money at which point tell them to buzz off.

Wow, that sounds really scary. But I think that you have nothing to worry about, most likely your phone was found in the database and it just happened that they called both you and your husband.

A shared database, your data has been stolen and most likely your data and your husband's data are in the same place.
