Well, if you're still under warranty with Cingular, you can have it replaced. I sort of doubt it though, because this model is already discontinued from their lineup. If it's possible, call Cingular up 1st and see what can be done. If they said that they'll accept it, but offer a different equivalent, take it because I think that the SX66 is a POS...sorry if that sounds offensive, but out of all the brands of cell phones (
PDA-/smart phones), Siemens gave me the most trouble.
If nothing can be done through Cingular, contact Siemens Support and use your 1-year manufacturers warranty. I hope they can help you because I've read that they [Ben-Q Siemens] is closing down its manufacturing and marketing facilities, or something to that effect. If someone would like to correct me, that's fine.
If Siemens support can't help you out, you can check up on businesses or individuals who can. Just look up their services on the classifieds or online like sites such as Craigslist. I got to know at least 3 people (from Craigslist) who are knowledgeable and experienced in fixing phones. Granted I know how to myself, but when I'm stuck, I can usually ask them for help. Online businesses can also be looked at like iunlock. If you email them, more than likely you'll get a response from a guy named Evan. Their responses are speedy and well mannered, and most of all very helpful. And if you do business with them by shipping in your phone, their return rate is very quick. I always recommend this site first.
I usually go through this process when dealing with a problem with a phone:
Service Provider -> Manufacturer -> 3rd party
It's less hassle for the person IMO, and makes things more simpler when trying to alleviate the problem.
But honestly (and I'm not trying to be rude, this is just my personal opinion), I think you just might want to get another
PDA phone or smart phone. Siemens + Windows Mobile = trouble in my book. And yup, I did own a SX66 for a while.
