I want to set up a second cell phone for my children/back-up/home. I found an old
AT&T Siemens S46 in my drawer that has not been used for probably 6-8 years... it is in super shape.
Question... WILL it still work? Is the technology of that phone adequate to use still? I know I could sign up for a new contract and get a new phone.. but I would prefer to just set up one that I have to see how this arrangement works for my family.

Re: Siemens S46 ? ?
Although the S46 has obviously been been around for a while and lacks the bells and whistles standared today, it still works very well in today's environment. I just returned from one of my frequent trips to Europe where mine worked perfectly, as it does here in the US. It's a good basic phone which has served me well for years. I keep passing up opportunities to "upgrade."
Only downside: Accessories are getting harder to find though, but when you do find them they're cheap.

This GSM/TDMA phone is packed with features. It functions not only on US TDMA and GSM networks, but also European GSM networks. Features include GPRS, voice control, custom graphics, orange backlight, and a large phone book.
