Hi guys, I was thinking that there should be a smartphone forum here at CPF, since a lot of [windows] smartphones work the same (depending on which version) it would be easier than posting in say, the motorola forum since other motorola phones don't work liike smartphones do. There could be sub forums for Windows, Blackberry, Palm, and whatever other smartphones there are out there. Thanks!

I was thinking of something along those lines as well. Like a Pocket PC/Smartphone forum or something, it's an idea.

    Re: Smartphone Forum

Hmm, it does sound like a good idea, but I think it would cause some overlapping or redundancy. We have both service provider and manufacturer forums, and that already seems to confuse a lot of people as to which forum their thread belongs in. If some of our members had a third option thrown in there, they'd be completely lost! We moderators would be tasked with determining which threads to move and which ones to leave alone, and any time we move a newbie's thread there is a small chance they might get confused and not be able to find it when they come back later.

I've been wrong before, but I think it would just make more work for the moderators and umm... look at how active our Danger (Sidekick/HipTop) forum is. I think if those threads stay in their respective service provider or manufacturer forum (depending on the nature of the question) they have a better chance of getting noticed by people who know the answer, rather than being in a little-noticed subforum.

That's just my two cents, but ya never know. Let's wait and see what the higher-ups think
