I see a lot of newbees and some not so newbees asking questions about Rep Power. I'd like to start this thread where people can ask questions about Rep Power.

    I'll ask the first question:

Under CPF's FAQs it states ... Rep (reputation) power is indicated by a number and green (good) or red (bad!) bars. If you meet the basic requirements in length of membership and post count you can add to someone's reputation score by clicking the scales icon at the bottom of the frame below their avatar. If your reputation power is 2 you will add 2 points to their reputation.

Under my rep power in my user profile, I have several greens, no reds (thankfully), but some blues. What are the blue codes?

    See More: Rep Power

I don't see any blue ones for you...just two green.
The blue bars, like cell phones, are for your post count
I can't remember...but it changes at like 5 or 10, and then again at 30 or so.

no...it's not that at all. A lot has to do with participation. As you can see, wirelessfan has about 4 times the amount of posts you do, so therefore has a lot more rep points. He may have gotten some rep points from other user's as well as from mods, smods, admin's.

If you go into your User Profile, it will tell you exactly how many rep points you have. In this instance, you have 9 rep points and wirelessfan has 154... thats why he's showing bars and your not. Just to be fair, I currently have 1790 rep points. (just don't want you guys/gals to think I was picking on you or telling something I shouldn't have)

the blues (or greys as I see them) are when someone who does not have any rep power, reputation altering power, gives a pat on the back via the rep system. Their "atta boy" doesn't alter your reputation score, but their comments shouldn't go unrecognized just because they are too new to affect your score. The greens boost your score, the reds detract from it ...
