I'm still waiting for my K700i to arrive. But if I'm not mistaken you have to install the driver first before connecting the phone.
Good luck

hi ChooB,
I won't get my phone until the end of this month so I can't really experiment with it yet.
I didn't know that the K700 comes with any data cable but I assuming that the cable is DCU-11.
According to SONY for this cable you have to actually:
1. Plug the cable first
2. Install the USB driver when prompted by Windows
(Click here for USB driver )
3. Re-start when needed and connect the phone.
BTW, did the computer ever detected the cable?
If it did the first time but never done it again you might want to remove it from your hardware list first (and uninstall any software that you have installed).
Good luck

ChooB,
It's a little bit hard for me to trouble shoot it without actually seing the problem.
I would recommend starting fresh again.
Remove the driver software, physical cable that you have installed on your computer and remove the cable from you hardware device list on Windows (assuming you are using windows).
then follow the steps again to install it (cable first than software)
Let me know if you need help with that.
Good luck

hey Choob,
What OS are you running.
In Windows you might need to really clean up the system from previous installation first before trying again.
I don't think you need to enable auto run since USB normally detects working connection (something that got plug in to them) automatically.
If I'm not mistaken Auto Run is only for Drives (Optical Drives, removable or Floopy) anyway.
