The Sony Ericsson S710a and S700i is almost the same. The S710 is released for the US market and it is Black color and S700i is Unlocked and can be used anywhere in the World and is silver color. For me S700i is a better phone because I can use it with any carrier and without signing a contract with them.

It does but first you have to program the IP addr. and I personally do not know how it is done because I do not have T-Mobile. Take care.

    Hello,
the s700i can be easily configured to use tzones on tmobile.

simply visit tmobile's online configurator and send the settings to yourself. you wont find s700i listed in the model drop down box, but I suspect that if you select the k500i that the settings for it are the same so they should work on your s700i.

    good luck!

s710a is better here in america because it has 2 bands of service for here, where the s700i only has one and it has 2 bands for the europe market... at least i think thats how it goes...

the basic difference between the 700 and the 710 is the 700 was released for europe and it has a built in fm radio which was removed for the 710 and US release. Small difference but I am wishing they had left it in, it would have been a nice extra feature

Re: Sony S710a vs. Sony S700i

Does anybody know if the s710a can be used with Verizon? I'm trying to sell mine, and I do have the procedure for unlocking the phone, but not sure if it can be used with Verizon (somebody asked me about that).

    Thanks!

    Dave

Re: Sony S710a vs. Sony S700i

It will be a very big issue if you live in the US and your area predominantly uses 850Mhz. You cannot use the S700 anywhere in the US and expect great reception. What's the use of having a good looking phone if half the people your talking to keep asking to repeat yourself because you're breaking up? Who cares if the S700 is unlocked, you can unlock the S710a as well. If you live in the US, go for the S710a.
