you would probabally want to call cingular to see if their medianet package allows that.
the basic principal behind using your phone as a modem to connect to the inernet is that you will create a dialup internet connection in windows and specify the phone as the modem by which you will connect. To use the GPRS and not minutes you will specify a network command as the dial up number it will probabally be something like #**98*# (that is just an example)
When you connect it will then use the gprs network instead of dialing out to an ISP. that way you minutes wont get used up.
IF their medianet package doesn't support this you can alway use what's called CSD to connect to the net. That's where instead of specifying a network command to dial to you specify a real dial up providers phone number. This way DOES use up minutes BUT sometimes it's neccessary, and if you have free nights and/or weekends then you should be able to use it unlimited durring those times.
You'll have to find out the details of configuration on your own, but now you know a little more about what needs to be done.
good luck!
