S710a Unbranding

Hi, i bought a unlocked s710a from a user on ebay, it works fine for voice, however it does not connect to the internet via wap. I was told by my provider (Edge Wireless)that Cingular may have a block on the data portion of it. All the settings are on it for use, but it wont connect. If i unbrand it with the latest firmware from Sony, would it solve this issue ? Anyone know of this for sure? If so can i just get a data cable (DCU-11) and use some software to do this procedure. Lastly where can i find some games to load onto it, pay or non pay .

Hello,
if you unbrand the phone by flashing with new R2A016 firmware it will remove all wap locks and you can configure the phone to work with any provider.

you CANNOT use a DCU-11 data cable to flash the phone you need a T28 Unlock cable (DSC-11) which supports service operations. the dcu-11 cable is meant for ringtone/phonebook/data transfer not service operations.

you'll also need 1 remote server credit. You can view my signature for details on this subject.

hehe, thanx but i've been to your site already and got the dsc cable from you via ebay, and the credit to flash it, did it monday nite and it works just fine no more Cingular crap to block the wap.
