W800 question

this is probably a very noobish question but once i buy this phone how would i get it to work on my verizon network? and what is the whole deal about it being unlocked?

verizon uses cdma while the w800 supports gsm only

overall... it will not work even when unlocked

i believe the w800 will only work with cingular or tmobile. There maybe others but i am only aware of those 2
