Is it possible to read and write information from and to the IR interface of a W810i on a bit-by-bit basis?

Do you mean as in like sending half a file, returning later and sending the other half? If so, it's not really possible I don't think. If you're out of range, the file will pause, but I presume you want this ability so that you may use the phone in between? Besides, the file would most probably cancel itself eventually if this is done. Sorry, but I think you're out of luck here mate...
