Problems chargin my W580i

The only way I can charge it is via USB cord, if I plug it into the wall charger it won´t charge, if I plug it into the car charger, it won´t charge and the green light on the charger turns off; if I plug the head set on then the cell phone turns off and when I try to turn it back on a red light flashes, I can only turn it on after taking the battery out. Please help me, I miss using the walkman!!!

Since this phone came out, all I've heard on this forum is complaints about it. I'm guessing Sony really did overfill the glass with this one. This however is not an issue I've heard of from any phone. My ideal suggestion is to see if you can take it back, as it sounds like faulty contacts. The only thing I can suggest is to prehaps clean the contacts with a small piece of non-static material. Other than that, I can't really think what the problem could be except for an internal error. My advice, get a refund and a different phone.

Thanks Zarphor, I´ve tried to clean them with alcohol, but nothing happens, I have had this unit since november 2007, so warranty is over by now, looks like I´m in deep trouble now, LOL, now that I can only cherge via USB I spend a lot more time loading it with ringotnes, music themes and stuff, at least there is a bright side to it, thanks!

When connecting to the wall charger, are you connecting the charger to the phone and then the wall,
or are you connecting the charger to the wall and then the phone ???

There have been some devices that need to be connected to the charger first.
Try different methods and let us know if it works.

Also try a new battery !!!
