w980 scratched touch screen, Displex?

I recently got a Sony Ericsson W980 but a series of unfortunate events lead to a pretty hefty scratch (and some more minor scratches) across the touch screen. It's still fully functional but I'd like the unsightly scratches removed... Especially as I didn't inflict them and take meticulous care of my phones.
I went down to the Carphone Warehouse and they claimed they could do nothing for it and I should take it to a computer shop to get a "full cosmetic refurb". I've not got around to checking prices for that yet and don't even see why a computer shop would do that.

Would Displex be a valid option for me? Would it damage the touch screen? Would it be able to remove a deep scratch?

Hi, I am a manager at CPW and cannot understand why you have been advised you cannot have it refurbed. One thing is that the W980 is a flip phone and has no touch screen!
You should take it back to your local branch and ask for a chargeable repair for the refurb. This would cost you £43. If you want the same day repair take it to your nearest Express Repair Centre. You will be able to find the details from the the store locator on the CPW Website or call us (phone number on site) and ask for the location. If you take it into any branch it will take up to 28 days for the repair.
