Hai hai, couple of months ago, it was some stormy weather and was raining hard. A good friend of mine insisted we'd go through and catch our train, only to realise the rain stopped after 20 minutes.
That aside, my SE g900 was in my pocket (wearing jeans), pants completely soaked.
The next day my touchscreen wouldn't work anymore and if I didn't lock the keys, the screen stayed lit all the time.

Should I repair it? If it costs a lot, I think I should better buy a new phone. If only rain can kill my phone, I could be reckless again and break it with something else.
Or does this fall under any warranty, or can I say it just broke (without mentioning the rain)?

All I can do is: type a message (of 1 length), call and when I'm lucky, end the call. I can't answer a call.

The reason I'm doing some action about it now is because I had exams and I went on vacation.

    Any help is appreciated

Water damage is the hardest thing to diagnose and repair on a phone.

I say that because, well, I've torn enough phones apart to know what a little water can do. It might be the digitizer or digitizer connector (the part that senses your finger on the touch pad)

eBay - Digitizer for Sony G900 - Asking price $26.99

LCD Screen - eBay LCD Screen Sony G900 - Asking Price $43.99

Now, it could be either of those, or neither. The problem could be with the connectors, the main board, or all of the above.
Having never torn a G900 apart, I wouldn't be able to give you any instructions on how to even begin to disassemble the phone to look at the internals.

    It's a $500 phone, so it's up to you.

Thank you for the reply. If it's that hard to repair, I guess I'll hand it over at a store. Tough I have no clue about the price they will ask for that repair.

It's true it was an expensive phone, but the way the screen is constructed makes me think it should not. Dust gets easily behind the screen, you can even put a piece of paper in it. So water could easily get in there as well. That's why I'm thinking of buying a new phone, but I'm not sure

Is there any sticker in my phone to see if it's the water that damaged the phone??
