Re: sony ericcson w595
got this from Sony Ericsson's website... Hope this helps
Problems sending or receiving SMS may be caused by no or incorrect SMS settings. To set up your phone to use SMS, you need a message centre number, which is provided by your network operator. This is often set up automatically when inserting a new SIM card to a phone. Whiteout the message centre number, you are not able to send or receive SMS.
To edit the service centre number:
1. Select Menu > Messaging > Settings > Text message.
2. Highlight Service centre and select Edit.
3. Highlight a service centre number and select Options > Edit > Cont.
4. Enter the service centre number and select Save.
5. Highlight the service centre number and select Select to use the defined service centre number.
To add a service centre number provided by your network operator:
1. Select Menu > Messaging > Settings > Text message.
2. Highlight Service centre and select Edit.
3. Enter the service centre number and select Save.
4. Select Add to add a new service centre number.
5. Enter the service centre number and select Save > Yes.
6. Highlight the service centre number and select Select to use the defined service centre number.
Note: The message centre number is provided by your network operator.

Re: sony ericcson w595
Test1 : (Is the issue resolved only when inbox being emptyed)
Here is what you do :
1. Delete all you messages - 1 in your inbox,
2. Restart the phone,
3. Send an sms to yourself.
4. Write a reply on this threat weather you got the message or not.
if it is not resolved. please continue with 2. test
Test2 : (Is this always resolved by emptying the inbox)
1. Delete ALL you messages in the inbox
2. Restart the phone,
3. Send an sms to yourself.
4. Write a reply on this threat weather you got the message or not.
If the problem is still not resolved then you have to reset the phone.
Test 3.
First of all, you must save all you phone settings, phone book sms(despite you just deleted them all, save it anyways!) phone settings. etc.
and then reset it.
1. Save all files
2 Reset you phone by typing in *#7370#.
3. Restart the phone,
4. Send an sms to yourself.
5. Write a reply on this threat weather you got the message or not.
If this works, then restore one of the save configurations at a time and test weather it still works.
