Enable / Disable Emergency Alerts:
- While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
- Go to and tap "Civil alerts"
- Press the "Menu" icon located at the top-right corner of the display
- Tap "Settings"
- Mark or unmark the checkboxes associated with "Extreme alerts", "Severe alerts", "AMBER alerts"
Note: Presidential alerts are enabled by default and can't be disabled
Enable / Disable GPS:
- While on the home screen, tap and hold the "Notification" bar, and slide it down
- Press the "Location" icon to enable or disable GPS
- If requested, review any additional information and then press "Agree"
Opting In / Out for System Manger:
System Manager allows you to provide feedback to T-Mobile in order for the carrier to improve its service. If you wish to opt in or out of System Manger:
- Tap the "Applications" icon located on the home screen
- Find and tap "Settings"
- Scroll to "Personal" then tap "Backup & reset"
- Press "Collect Diagnostics"
- Mark or unmark the checkbox associated with "Allow Diagnostics"
Network Settings
Managing APN & Data Settings:
- Tap the "Applications" icon located on the home screen
- Select "Settings"
- Under "Wireless & Networks", press "More"
- Go to and tap "Mobile networks"
- Tap "Access Point Names". Note: by default, your handset should be set to "T-Mobile Data" APN
- Press the "Menu" icon located in the bottom-right corner of the display
- Press "New APN"
- Type in the access point information as necessary
- Tap the "Menu" icon and select "Save"
- In the list, select a newly added APN
Manual Network Selection:
- Tap the "Applications" icon located on the home screen
- Go to "Settings"
- Under "Wireless & Netowrks", press "More"
- Tap "Mobile networks"
- Press "Service providers" and wait for your device to search for available providers
- Select the network that you wish to connect to, and follow any on-screen instructions that may appear
Switching between 2G / 4G / LTE:
- While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
- Browse through the app drawer, find and tap "Settings"
- Press "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
- Scroll down to and select "Mobile networks"
- Tap "Network Mode" and select one of the following: "WCDMA only", "GMS only", "WCDMA (referred) / GSM", "LTE (preferred) / WCDMA / GSM"
Enabling / Disabling Airplane Mode:
- Tap the "Applications" icon on the home screen
- Select "Settings"
- Under "Wireless & Networks" tap "More"
- Mark or unmark the checkbox associated with "Airplane mode"
Enabling / Disabling Data Roaming:
- While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
- Tap "Settings"
- Press "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
- Scroll down to and select "Mobile networks"
- Mark or unmark the checkbox associated with "Data roaming"
- Tap "OK" to confirm, if required
NFC Settings
Enabling / Disabling NFC:
- Tap the "Applications" icon on the home screen
- Go to "Settings"
- Under "Wireless & Networks" press "More"
- Tap the checkbox associated with "NFC" in order to enable or disable the feature
To read an NFC tag:
- Make sure NFC is enabled
- Place the back of your smartphone against another NFC-enabled device or an NFC tag. Your handset should vibrate and make a notification sound
- Follow any additional on-screen prompts
