Enable / Disable Emergency Alerts:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Go to and tap "Civil alerts"
  3. Press the "Menu" icon located at the top-right corner of the display
  4. Tap "Settings"
  5. Mark or unmark the checkboxes associated with "Extreme alerts", "Severe alerts", "AMBER alerts"

Note: Presidential alerts are enabled by default and can't be disabled

Enable / Disable GPS:

  1. While on the home screen, tap and hold the "Notification" bar, and slide it down
  2. Press the "Location" icon to enable or disable GPS
  3. If requested, review any additional information and then press "Agree"

Opting In / Out for System Manger:

System Manager allows you to provide feedback to T-Mobile in order for the carrier to improve its service. If you wish to opt in or out of System Manger:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon located on the home screen
  2. Find and tap "Settings"
  3. Scroll to "Personal" then tap "Backup & reset"
  4. Press "Collect Diagnostics"
  5. Mark or unmark the checkbox associated with "Allow Diagnostics"

Network Settings

Managing APN & Data Settings:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon located on the home screen
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Networks", press "More"
  4. Go to and tap "Mobile networks"
  5. Tap "Access Point Names". Note: by default, your handset should be set to "T-Mobile Data" APN
  6. Press the "Menu" icon located in the bottom-right corner of the display
  7. Press "New APN"
  8. Type in the access point information as necessary
  9. Tap the "Menu" icon and select "Save"
  10. In the list, select a newly added APN

Manual Network Selection:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon located on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Netowrks", press "More"
  4. Tap "Mobile networks"
  5. Press "Service providers" and wait for your device to search for available providers
  6. Select the network that you wish to connect to, and follow any on-screen instructions that may appear

Switching between 2G / 4G / LTE:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Browse through the app drawer, find and tap "Settings"
  3. Press "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
  4. Scroll down to and select "Mobile networks"
  5. Tap "Network Mode" and select one of the following: "WCDMA only", "GMS only", "WCDMA (referred) / GSM", "LTE (preferred) / WCDMA / GSM"

Enabling / Disabling Airplane Mode:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon on the home screen
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Networks" tap "More"
  4. Mark or unmark the checkbox associated with "Airplane mode"

Enabling / Disabling Data Roaming:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Press "More" under "Wireless & Networks"
  4. Scroll down to and select "Mobile networks"
  5. Mark or unmark the checkbox associated with "Data roaming"
  6. Tap "OK" to confirm, if required


NFC Settings

Enabling / Disabling NFC:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Networks" press "More"
  4. Tap the checkbox associated with "NFC" in order to enable or disable the feature

To read an NFC tag:

  1. Make sure NFC is enabled
  2. Place the back of your smartphone against another NFC-enabled device or an NFC tag. Your handset should vibrate and make a notification sound
  3. Follow any additional on-screen prompts
