Managing and Setting a Data Usage Limiter:

Setting up a data usage limiter allows you to prevent extra charges by exceeding your data allowance. Keep in mind that this method will allow your smartphone to measure data usage, but the carrier's method of calculating data usage may differ. That said, it is advised to set a lower limit and leave a threshold.

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & networks", press "Data usage"
  4. Perform the following:

  • To set a data usage limiter:
    1. Mark the "Set mobile data limit" checkbox
    2. Tap "OK"
    3. Tap and hold the red bar and drag it up or down to set it to the desired amount. Once this amount is reached, your data connection will be automatically disabled
    4. Tap and hold the orange bar to set it to the desired amount. Once this limit is reached you will receive a notification, but data connectivity will not be disabled

Note: to disable the limiter, clear the "set mobile data limit" checkbox.

Viewing Data Usage by Applications:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon located on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Tap "Data usage" under "Wireless & Networks"
  4. Tap the "Data usage" drop-down menu and select the desired period of time
  5. Scroll down and view the list of applications and their data usage

Clearing the Browser Cache, Cookies and history:

  1. Tap the "Chrome" icon located on the home screen. (If missing, you will find it in the apps drawer)
  2. Press the "Menu" icon located in the top-right corner of the display
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Touch "Privacy" under "Advanced"
  5. Tap "Clear Browsing data"
  6. Mark the checkboxes associated with "Clear the cache", "Clear cookies, site data" and "Clear browsing history"
  7. Tap "Clear"

Enabling / Disabling JavaScript:

  1. Tap the "Chrome" icon located on the home screen
  2. Press the "Menu" icon located in the upper-right corner of the display
  3. Touch "Settings"
  4. Tap "Content settings" and clear or unclear the "Enable JavaScript" checkbox


Account and Syncing Options

Enabling Disabling Background Data:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
  2. Access "Settings"
  3. Under "Wireless & Networks", press "Data usage"
  4. Tap the "Menu" icon located in the top-right corner of the disaply
  5. Mark or unmark the "Restrict background data" checkbox
  6. Tap "OK"

Syncing Apps & Accounts:

  1. Tap the "Applications" icon located on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Select the account that you wish to edit
  4. At the top of the display, select your user name or email address
  5. Mark or unmark the categories to sync
  6. Press the "Menu" icon located in the top-right corner
  7. Tap "Sync now"
