Backing Up Applications:
- While on the home screen, tap the "All Apps" icon
- Browse for and open "Settings"
- Tap "Backup & reset" under "Personal"
- Mark the check box associated with "Backup my data"
- Tap "Backup account" and select the account on which you wish to backup the data. Alternatively, tap "Add account" to add a new account, and follow any additional self-explanatory steps
Backing up Contacts:
- While on the home screen, tap the "Phone" icon
- Tap the "Contacts" button located in the top-left corner
- Press the "Menu" icon located in the bottom-right corner
- Tap "Back up contacts" and choose one of the following backup methods:
- Back Up on the SIM Card:
- Tap "SIM card"
- Select the desired contacts. Alternatively, tap "Mark all"
- Tap "Back up" and if prompted, select either "Add contacts" or "Replace all contacts"
- Tap "OK" to confirm
- Back Up on the SD Card:
- Tap "SD card"
- Press "OK" to confirm
- Back Up on the SIM Card:
Backing Up Media Files Using the Smartphone:
- While on the home screen, tap "All Apps"
- Select "Settings"
- Browse for and tap "Storage"
- Tap "Transfer data to SD card"
Backing Up Media Files Using a Computer:
- Using the USB cable, connect your smartphone to your computer
- When the Windows Explorer window appears, click "Browse files"
- Open the device's "Internal Storage" directory
- Navigate to the desired media files, and copy them
- Paste the media files in the desired location on your computer
- Once the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" and click "OK"
- Disconnect your smartphone
Restoring Applications:
- While viewing any of the home screens, tap "All Apps"
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Personal", tap "Backup & reset"
- Tap "Backup account" and select the desired account
- Mark the "Automatic restore" check box
Restoring Contacts:
- From the home screen, open the "Phone" application
- Press the "Contacts" icon located in the top-right corner
- Tap the "Menu" icon located in the bottom-right corner
- Select "Import Contacts" and perform one of the following steps:
- To restore from the SIM card:
- Tap the contact that you wish to import
- Alternatively, tap "Import all"
- To restore from the SD Card:
- Tap "SD card"
- Choose the vCard file containing the desired contacts
- Tap "OK" to confirm
- To restore from the SIM card:
Restoring Media Files From a Computer:
- Establish a connection between your smartphone and PC via USB
- When the Windows Explorer window appears, select "Browse files"
- Access your device's "Internal Storage"
- Open a new Windows Explorer window and go to the folder where your media files have been saved on your PC
- Copy the desired files and paste them on your smartphone's internal storage
- Once the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" and then "OK"
- You can now disconnect your smartphone
