Transferring contacts from an iPhone to an Android device has never been easier, thanks to the amount of programs and applications that are at our disposal. If you happen to own the Xperia Z1s and you're finding it difficult to transfer your iPhone contacts, then fret not. Below you will find 4 methods to help you get the job done easily.

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

iTunes allows you to sync your iPhone contacts with a Google account. This makes it easy to transfer the contacts to your Android device, including the contact photo and additional information. For this method you need a computer with iTunes installed on it.

  1. Open iTunes on your computer
  2. Use the proprietary USB cable to connect your iPhone to your PC
  3. Once connected, the smartphone should appear in iTunes. Click it and go to the "Info" tab
  4. Mark the check box associated with "Sync Contacts With", and from the drop-down list, choose "Google Contacts"
  5. Enter your Google account's log in credentials. If you've added an account before, you can click "Configure" and select it from the list
  6. Click "Apply" and allow iTunes to sync the iPhone contacts
  7. On your Xperia Z1s, register the same Google account if necessary. To register an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  8. Allow Google to sync the contacts with your Android smartphone

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts from an iPhone:

In case you've used iCloud on your iPhone before and you have an account, then chances are that your iPhone's contacts have already been backed up. Using a computer, you can share these contacts with your Xperia Z1s.

  1. On your PC's Internet browser, visit www.icloud.com
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account
  3. Go to "Contacts" to view the list of contacts
  4. Select the ones that you want to export
  5. Click the icon located in the lower-left side (shaped like a cog wheel) and click "Export vCard"
  6. A VCF file containing your contacts will now be downloaded on your computer
  7. You can now perform one of the following:
    • Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts"
    • Connect your Xperia Z1s to your computer via USB, and copy the VCF file to your phone's "sdcard" directory. Follow up by opening the "Contacts" app, tap "Menu" > "Import Contacts" > "SD card". Select the location where to store the contacts, and choose the VCF file to import it

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer iPhone Contacts:

Using the My Contacts Backup iOS application, you can share your iPhone contacts to the Xperia Z1s without needing to connect any phone to a computer.

  1. Use your iPhone to visit the App Store and download "My Contacts Backup"
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
  3. After the app backs up your contacts, select "Email". This will create an email with a VCF file containing the contacts attached to it
  4. Enter your own Gmail account as the email recipient, and send it
  5. Switch over to the Xperia Z1s and open the email containing the VCF attachment
  6. Download the file and import the contacts to your device

Using "Bump" to Transfer iPhone Contacts:

Bump is an iOS and Android application that allows you to transfer contacts from one platform to the other via cloud connectivity. While you don't need access to a computer for this method, you are required to have an active Internet connection on both smartphones

  1. Visit the App Store and install "Bump" on your iPhone
  2. Install the same app on your Xperia Z1s from the Play Store
  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. If prompted, allow permissions
  5. Grab the iPhone and swipe to the contacts section. Then, select the contacts that you wish to share
  6. When the message "Bump Now!" appears in the top-right corner, you can gently bump the smartphones together
  7. A "Connect" button should now appear on the screen of both smartphones. Tap it
  8. Your previously selected contacts will now be transferred to the Xperia Z1s
