Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

If you have a computer with Internet access and iTunes installed, you can use the software to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account, making it very easy to transfer the contacts on the Xperia ZR. Synced contacts include all the saved information, including the contact image, email address, notes etc.

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Using the proprietary USB cable, connect your iPhone to the PC
  3. After it connects, click on the iPhone in iTunes
  4. Go to the "Info" tab, and place a check mark next to "Sync Contacts With"
  5. Select "Google Contacts" from the drop-down list
  6. Enter your Google account's log in details. If you've already registered a Google account in iTunes, you can click "Configure" and select it from the list
  7. Click "Apply" and wait for the syncing process to finish
  8. Switch over to the Xperia ZR and register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes. (NOTE: if you have to add the account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  9. Allow Google to sync contacts with your Xperia device

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

In case you've used the iCloud service on your iPhone, the contacts stored on your device should be already backed up on your iCloud account. By accessing your account via a computer with Internet connection, you can export these contacts as a vCard file.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Log in with your iCloud account
  3. Click "Contacts" and select the contacts that you want to export
  4. Click the button shaped like a cog wheel, located in the bottom-left area
  5. Select "Export vCard", and wait for your computer to download the VCF file
  6. From here, you can perform either one of these two steps:
    • Import the vCard file to "Google Contacts"
    • Connect the Xperia ZR to your computer via USB, and transfer the VCF file to the "sdcard" directory. Launch the contacts app, press "Menu" > "Import contacts" > "SD card". Select the desired account, and choose the vCard file to load it

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer Contacts:

My Contacts Backup is an iOS application that gives the option to back up your contacts and compile them in a vCard file, which can then be sent to an Android device via email. For this method, you don't need access to a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the app and tap "Backup". This will create a VCF file with all of your contacts
  3. After the vCard file is created, tap "Email" to attach it to a new email
  4. Send the email containing the attachment to your own Gmail account
  5. On your Xperia ZR, open the email
  6. Download the vCard attachment and import the contacts using the "Import from SD" function in the contacts application

Transferring Contacts using Send Anywhere:

Last but definitely not least, you can transfer contacts from your iPhone to the Xperia ZR using the "Send Anywhere" application. This app works on both iOS and Android, and performs file transfers using a P2P connection.

  1. Visit the Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on the Xperia ZR
  2. From the App Store, download the same app on your iPhone
  3. Launch the application on both phones
  4. Switch to the iPhone, and tap "Send" > "Contacts"
