Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

If you have access to a computer with Internet and iTunes installed, you can easily transfer the contacts from your iPhone over to the Sony Xperia Z2, by syncing the contacts with a Google account. Synced contacts include their image, contact address, email and any other information provided. To perform this method of transfer:

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Use the proprietary USB cable to connect your iPhone to the computer
  3. Once it successfully connects, the iPhone will pop-up in iTunes. Click it
  4. Go to the "Info" tab and mark the check box associated with "Sync Contacts With"
  5. Select "Google Contacts" from the drop-down list
  6. Register your Google account in iTunes. If you've done this before, you can click "Configure" and select an existing Google account
  7. To commence the syncing process, click "Apply"
  8. On the Xperia Z2, register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes. (NOTE: if you need to add it, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"
  9. Allow Google to sync contacts with your Android device

Transferring Contacts via iCloud:

As long as you've used the iCloud service on your iPhone before, your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. By accessing your account using a computer with access to the Internet, you can export these contacts as a vCard file, which can then be used by the Xperia Z2 for contact import. To do so:

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your PC and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account
  3. Click "Contacts"
  4. From the list of contacts, select the ones that you want to share
  5. Click the "Settings" wheel located in the lower-left side of the screen
  6. Select "Export vCard" and wait for your computer to download the VCF file
  7. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts" or:
  8. Connect the Sony Xperia Z2 to your computer via USB, and copy the VCF file to the "sdcard" directory. Next up, launch the "Phone" app, go to the "Contacts" tab, tap "Menu" > "Import contacts" > "SD card" > select the location where to import the contact > choose the VCF file and tap "OK"

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer Contacts:

The two guides above require you to have access to a computer, but you can also transfer contacts without a PC, by using various third party applications. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that allows you to backup and share your contacts via email. To do this:

  1. Go to the App Store and download "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the application
  3. Tap "Backup". Once the file is created, tap "Email" to attach it to a new email
  4. In the email recipient field, enter your own Gmail address
  5. Send the email to your address
  6. Open the email on the Sony Xperia Z2, and download the attached VCF file
  7. Import the file's contents using the contacts application and the "Import from SD" function (as mentioned at the end of the "iCloud" guide above)

Using "Send Anywhere" to Transfer Contacts:

Last but not least, you can use the iOS and Android app called "Send Anywhere" in order to transfer your contacts. This application can send content via a P2P connection, so it's not required for you to have access to a computer. To perform this method of transfer:

  1. Go to the Google Play Store and download "Send Anywhere" on the Sony Xperia Z2
  2. Visit the App Store and install the same application on your iPhone
  3. Open the app on both devices
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  5. Select the contacts that you want to transfer and tap "Send"
  6. Lastly, select the desired method of transfer. You can tap "Receive" on the Xperia Z2 and type in the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone. Alternatively, you can tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone and scan the code with the Z2's camera in order to commence the transfer
