Using Google Sync to Transfer Contacts:
This is one of the most common methods of transferring contacts from one Android phone to another. It basically implies syncing your contacts from the Galaxy Note II with your Google account, and then signing in with the same account on the Xperia T3, and allow it to sync content with your Sony smartphone. To perform this method:
- Sign in with your Google account on the Galaxy Note II
- From the home screen, press "Menu"
- Tap "Settings"
- Scroll to "My accounts" and tap "Google"
- Tap your "email address" or "user name"
- Clear and then mark the "Sync Contacts" check box. You can also tap "Sync now"
- On the Xperia T3, open the phone's "Settings" menu
- Tap "Accounts" and register the same account that you've used on the Note II
- After you've added the account, allow it to sync contacts with your Xperia T3 and you're all set
Using the "Import / Export" Function to Transfer Contacts:
You can easily transfer the contacts from the Galaxy Note II to the Xperia T3 by first exporting them in the form of a vCard file, which can then be either sent to the T3 via email, or transferred to the said smartphone's storage via USB and a computer.
- On the Galaxy Note II, launch the "Contacts" application
- From the "Contacts" tab, press "Menu"
- Tap "Contacts to display" and select "All contacts"
- Press "Menu" > "Import / Export"
- Tap "Export to SD Card" and make sure you remember the backup file's name for future use
- Tap "OK"
- Launch the email application and compose a new email
- Attach the backup file to a new email and send it to your Gmail address
- On the Sony Xperia T3, open the email and download the attached vCard file
- Launch the "Phone" app and go to the "Contacts" tab
- Press "Menu" and tap "Import Contacts"
- Choose to import the contacts from the storage/ SD card
- Browse for the downloaded vCard file and load it
- Tap "OK"
NOTE: you can transfer the VCF file from the Note II to the Xperia T3 by means of a computer, without having to email it. To do so, you need to connect the Note II to the computer using the USB cable, and then transfer the vCard file on the computer's HDD. Then, connect the Xperia T3 to your computer via USB, and transfer the vCard file to the phone's storage, before importing its contents through the "contacts" application
Using "Send Anywhere" to Transfer Contacts:
Send Anywhere is an application that can be used to transfer content cross-platform without needing a computer. The app is able to send contacts from one device to another via a peer-2-peer connection. To perform this method:
- Go to the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on both devices
- Once installed, open the app on both smartphone
- On the Galaxy Note II, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
- Mark the contacts that you wish to share
- Tap "Send"
- Lastly, select a contact transfer method. By tapping "Generate QR Code" on the Note II you can create a QR code which can then be scanned with the Xperia T3's main camera in order to begin the transfer. You can also tap "Receive" on the Xperia T3, and then enter the transfer code that has been generated randomly on the Galaxy Note II
