Clearing an Application's Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your third party apps freezes, crashes or doesn't work properly, you can try solving these problems by clearing the application's cache. If that doesn't help, you can also try clearing the app's data.

WARNING! Unlike clearing an app's cache, clearing its data will result in the deletion of personal information stored within the app, including saved games, credit card information, settings, high scores etc.

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and scroll to "Device"
  3. Tap "Apps" and swipe to the "All" or "Downloaded" screen
  4. Locate the desired app and tap it
  5. Tap "Clear cache"
  6. If clearing the cache hasn't solved the issues, tap "Clear data" too
  7. Press "OK" to confirm

Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your smartphone isn't working properly, if it freezes, crashes etc. and you're considering master resetting it, then you may want to try fixing these issues by clearing the phone's cache partition first. Unlike a factory reset, clearing the phone's cache partition will not result in the deletion of personal information stored on the phone's internal memory. To clear the phone's cache:

  1. With the smartphone turned on, press and hold the "Power" and "Volume Up" keys at the same time
  2. Continue holding the two keys until the screen shuts down
  3. Once the device vibrates once, you can release the hardware buttons
  4. Restart your smartphone as you normally would, by pressing the "Power" key

NOTE: In case wiping the cache hasn't solve your problems with the Xperia C3, then you may want to apply a factory reset. Follow this link for a full guide on how you can factory reset your C3.
