Using iTunes:

NOTE: With the help of iTunes you can sync the contacts stored on your iPhone with a Google account. After the contacts are synced, you can re-sync them with your Sony Xperia Z3 by signing in with the same Google account and allowing contact syncing. This method requires a computer with iTunes installed and access to the Internet

  1. Open iTunes on your computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to the PC via USB
  3. The iPhone should appear in iTunes. Click it to reveal its summary page
  4. Access the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. From the drop-down menu select "Google Contacts"
  6. Enter your Google account's log in details, or click "Configure" and select an existing account from the list, if applicable
  7. Click "Apply" and the sync will begin
  8. On the Xperia Z3, register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes
  9. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu and allow the Google account to sync contacts with your Sony smartphone

Using iCloud:

NOTE: If you've used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone, then your contacts should already be backed up on your iCloud account. You can export these contacts in the form of a VCF file, by signing in to your iCloud account via a computer with Internet access

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and log in with your iCloud account
  3. Click "Contacts"
  4. Select the contacts you want to export and click the cog wheel icon
  5. Select "Export vCard" and the VCF file containing the contacts will be downloaded on the computer
  6. Once the download is complete, import the file to "Google Contacts", or skip this step and perform the next one instead:
  7. Connect the Sony Xperia Z3 to your computer via USB and copy the VCF file to the phone's SD storage. Open the "Phone" application, go to the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu". Tap "Import contacts" > "SD Card". Select the vCard file you wish to import and tap "OK"

Using "My Contacts Backup":

NOTE: In case you're looking for methods of contact transfer that don't require access to a computer, then you can try various third party applications such as My Contacts Backup. This specific app is for iOS and can be used to back up the contacts as a VCF file, which can then be sent via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and download "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap "Backup"
  3. Once the backup file is done, tap "Email"
  4. Compose a new email and attach the VCF file to it
  5. Send the email to your Gmail address
  6. Switch to the Sony Xperia Z3 and open the email containing the vCard file
  7. Download the attachment and import its contents through the "Contacts" application and the "Import" function (as explained at the end of the iCloud guide above)

Using "Send Anywhere":

NOTE: Finally, you can also use Send Anywhere which is a 3rd party app for both iOS and Android. This application uses a p2p connection for the transfer, and can be used cross-platform without needing a computer.

  1. Visit the Google Play Store and download "Send Anywhere" on your Xperia Z3
  2. From the App Store, install the same app on your iPhone
  3. Launch the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send" and select "Contacts"
  5. Mark the contacts you want to share and tap "Send"
  6. Select the desired transfer method. By tapping "Receive" you can enter the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone to the Xperia Z3. You can also tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone and scan the code with the Xperia Z3's camera to begin the transfer
