Restoring Apps:
- Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
- Access "Settings" and swipe to "Personal"
- Tap "Backup & reset"
- Tap "Backup account" and select the account used for the initial backup
- Tap "Add account" if necessary, and follow the on-screen prompts
- Mark the "Automatic restore" check box
Restoring Contacts:
- From the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Scroll to and tap "Backup & restore"
- Tap "Restore data now"
- Mark the "Contacts" check box and tap "Continue"
- Tap "Finish" once the process is done
Restoring Media Files
From the Smartphone:
- Tap "Apps" while viewing a home screen
- Launch "File Commander" and tap "SD Card"
- Navigate to the files you wish to transfer
- Mark the check boxes next to the files you want to restore
- Tap the "Copy" button at the bottom of the screen
- Return to the File Commander's main screen and tap "Internal storage"
- Navigate to the folder you wish to restore your files in
- Tap the icon showing a notepad and a pen, then tap "Paste"
From a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between your smartphone and computer
- In the AutoPlay window on your computer, click to browse the phone's files and folders
- Navigate to the "Internal storage" directory
- Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up media files on your computer's hard drive
- Copy the files from your HDD, and transfer then on your phone's storage
- Once the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- You can now safely disconnect the Xperia E3 from your computer
