Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Power management”
  4. Tap to enable “STAMINA mode”
  5. Tap the battery level slider to adjust the battery percentage at which STAMINA mode enables automatically and tap “O
  6. If necessary, you can add or remove apps from the “Apps Active in Standby”
  7. Tap to enable “Low battery mode”
  8. You can further customize Low battery mode by tapping “Screen brightness” and “Screen timeout”, and by enabling / disabling features like “Wi-Fi”, “Vibrate on touch” etc.
  9. Tap to enable “Location-based Wi-Fi”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Tap “Display” under “Device”
  4. Tap “Brightness” and if necessary, clear the “Adapt to light conditions” option
  5. Tap the “Brightness” slider and drag it towards the left, then tap “OK” to confirm
  6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower screen timeout value, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by disabling your phone’s connectivity features whenever they are not in use.

  1. Slide the “Notification” bar down
  2. Tap the icons associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth”, and “Location” (GPS) to disable these features
  3. Tap “Settings”
  4. From the settings menu, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  5. Tap “Tethering and Mobile Hotspot”
  6. Clear the “Mobile Hotspot” option to disable the feature

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your phone to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Under “Accounts”, select the type of account to edit
  3. Select your account name if necessary
  4. Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to disable

Disable Background Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Data usage” under “Wireless & Networks”
  4. Tap “menu” and enable “Restrict background data”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phone’s battery life even if you don’t use them – assuming that the apps run regular processes in the background. As such you can improve battery life by disabling or uninstalling unused third party applications.

  1. Open the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
  3. Slide to the “Downloaded” screen
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Disable” to turn off the app, or “Uninstall” > “OK” to completely remove it

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
  4. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  5. Select 2G

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery management, so it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Tap “About phone” under “System”
  3. Tap “Software update”
  4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it
