Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Swipe to Device and tap Power management
- Tap to enable STAMINA mode
- Tap the battery level slider to adjust the battery percentage at which STAMINA mode enables automatically and tap OK
- If necessary, you can add or remove apps from the Apps Active in Standby
- Tap to enable Low battery mode
- You can further customize Low battery mode by tapping Screen brightness and Screen timeout, and by enabling / disabling features like Wi-Fi, Vibrate on touch etc.
- Tap to enable Location-based Wi-Fi
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Tap Display under Device
- Tap Brightness and if necessary, clear the Adapt to light conditions option
- Tap the Brightness slider and drag it towards the left, then tap OK to confirm
- Tap Sleep and select a lower screen timeout value, such as 15 seconds
Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:
NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by disabling your phones connectivity features whenever they are not in use.
- Slide the Notification bar down
- Tap the icons associated with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Location (GPS) to disable these features
- Tap Settings
- From the settings menu, tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Tap Tethering and Mobile Hotspot
- Clear the Mobile Hotspot option to disable the feature
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By setting your phone to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Go to Settings
- Under Accounts, select the type of account to edit
- Select your account name if necessary
- Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to disable
Disable Background Data:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap Data usage under Wireless & Networks
- Tap menu and enable Restrict background data
Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:
NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phones battery life even if you dont use them assuming that the apps run regular processes in the background. As such you can improve battery life by disabling or uninstalling unused third party applications.
- Open the apps drawer and go to Settings
- Tap Apps under Device
- Slide to the Downloaded screen
- Select the desired app
- Tap Disable to turn off the app, or Uninstall > OK to completely remove it
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Under Wireless & Networks, tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Select 2G
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery management, so its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:
- Go to Settings
- Tap About phone under System
- Tap Software update
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it
