Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Tap “Backup account” if necessary, and choose, or sign in with an account sync data with
Restore App Data:
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal”
- Tap “Backup account” and select the account containing the backup
- Tap to turn on “Automatic restore”
Turn On Automatic Backup:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Backup & restore”
- Turn on “Automatic Backup”
- Tap “Automatic backup” again to set a backup frequency, location, and other details
Back Up Data Manually:
- Launch “Backup & restore”
- Tap “Manual backup” and select a backup location
- Select the type of data you want to back up
- Tap “Backup” > “Finish”
Restore Data Manually:
- Launch “Backup & restore”
- Tap “Restore data” and navigate to where the backup file is located
- Select the type of data you want to restore and tap “Restore data”
- Tap “Finish”
Back Up Data Using Sony Bridge (Mac) or PC Companion (PC):
- On a Mac, visit https://support.sonymobile.com/globa...ridge-for-mac/ and install “Sony Bridge”
- On a Windows PC, visit https://support.sonymobile.com/globa.../pc-companion/ and install “PC Companion”
- Establish a USB connection between the Xperia Z5 Premium and computer
- Launch “PC Companion” or “Sony Bridge”
- Inside the app, click ”Start” > “Backup” and follow the on-screen steps to back up the desired data
Restore Data via Sony Bridge (Mac) or PC Companion (PC):
- Connect the Xperia Z5 Premium to the computer via USB
- Launch “PC Companion” or “Sony Bridge”
- In the app, click “Start” > “Restore”
- Follow any additional on-screen steps to complete the restore
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Xperia Z5 Premium to your computer via USB
- Make sure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
- Launch an Explorer window on the computer and locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them on your computer storage
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Xperia Z5 Premium and computer
- Swipe the “Status” bar down and ensure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)”
- Open an Explorer window on the PC and locate the media files backup
- Copy the files, and transfer them back on your phone storage
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
