contact groups

when editing a contact in order to put that contact in a group, the 'group' bar does not appear

You are doing this in Contact list? or with any app?

Hi Joe,
I'm in Contact List.
I have all my contacts listed, now I want to put them in groups, i.e family, friends, business etc, which is how I had them set up previously with my Samsung phone.
When I try to edit a contact using the pencil icon, I can change the person's name and telephone number but there is no option to put individuals in to 'groups'. The user manual says to click on the 'Groups' bar but it isn't showing.

Any thoughts anyone?!!

Contacts application, tap the Groups icon. do you have any group icon on contact list, not on any particular list but on contact list.

In the contacts app I have 3 bars at the top, contacts,favourites and groups. There are groups listed but they are empty. I simply don't have the means to put my contacts in any of the lists, as already explained!!
