Back Up App Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Under “Personal”, tap “Backup & reset”
- To back up application data to your Google account, enable “Back up my data”
- To allow app data to be automatically restored upon reinstallation or signing in with your Google backup account, enable “Automatic Restore”
Back Up Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to, and tap “Accounts”
- Select the account type and account you want to use
- Make sure “Contacts” is checked
- Then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your backup account
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Sony Xperia X Performance to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone, using the File Explorer on the PC
- Copy the desired media files form the phone, and transfer them on the PC storage
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Sony device to your computer using the USB cord
- Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups located on the PC
- Copy the desired files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder they originate from
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
