Sync iPhone Contacts with Google via iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then, you can sync the account data, including contacts, with the Sony device.
- Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer
- Launch iTunes on the computer
- In iTunes, access “Info” and enable “Sync Contacts With”
- Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account, or alternatively, click “Configure” and select an existing account
- Click “Apply” to start the sync
- After the sync is complete, register the same account on the Sony device and allow the account to sync contacts with your phone
Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:
NOTE: If your iPhone contacts have already been backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
- Select the contacts you want to share and click “Settings”
- Go to “Export vCard”
- After the vCard has been downloaded, follow one of these steps:
- Use the Internet browser on the PC and import the vCard to “Google Contacts” or:
- Connect the Sony Xperia XA Ultra to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and import its contents using “Contacts”
Via “My Contacts Backup”:
NOTE: Although the methods above require a computer with access to the Internet, alternatively you can transfer iPhone contacts using third party applications. My Contacts Backup is a third party app for iOS which can be used to back up and share contacts via email.
- Visit the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
- Open the app and tap “Backup”
- After the vCard is created, tap “Email”
- Ensure the vCard is attached to the email and send it to your own address
- Switch to the Sony device and open the email
- Download the vCard attachment and use “Contacts” to import it
Using “Send Anywhere”:
NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party application (for Android and iOS) that can be used for contact transfer, cross-platform, without requiring a computer. (the app uses a peer-2-peer connection)
- Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
- Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the Sony device
- Launch the application on both smartphones
- On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
- Select the desired contacts and tap “Send”
- Lastly, choose a transfer method, and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
