Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Sony Xperia XZ to your computer via USB
- Turn on “Media Device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Alarms” / “Notifications” folders
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound & Notification”
- Tap “Phone ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
- Optionally, you can choose to enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls”
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the phone’s internal memory or SIM card.
- Open “Contacts”
- Select the desired contact
- Tap “Edit”
- Tap “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” for confirmation
Change the Notification Alert:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sound & Notification”
- Tap “Default notification ringtone”
- Select the notification ringtone you want to use
- Tap “OK”
