Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Sony Xperia XA to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy and transfer the audio files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Alarms” / “Notifications” directories
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
- Tap “Sound & Notification” > “Phone ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK” to confirm
- Optionally, you can enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls”
Change a Contact’s Ringtone:
NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones to contacts that are located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.
- Launch “Contacts”
- Tap the desired contact and tap “Edit”
- Press “Menu” > “Set ringtone”
- Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
Change the Notification Sound:
- Go to “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound & Notification”
- Tap “Default notification ringtone”
- Tap the notification ringtone you want to use
- Press “OK” to confirm
