I myself used the 13.5 sec trick and have freed up about 100k and got rid of the dumb predefined wallpapers. I still don't think it is adequate space for the phone's potential but the little memory can go a long ways....i guess

HINT: If the 13 sec trick does not work from the first or second time, just keep trying...After 4 times it worked fine with me!

Yeah the 13second...or 12.5 second trick as i know it works well.
Basically, when you do a master reset, it deletes everything off the phones memory, then loads the defualt data back onto the phones normal memory off of a permanent memory. So basically if you remove the battery after 12.5/13 seconds, you can cut the power before the phone gets a chance to load its default pics etc back onto the phone :-)

The trick worked for me, but memory got confuse after that.
First I had about 590k free, and that was good. Sometimes, taking pics and sending them to the phone memory (to transfer by IR), memory suddenly goes down (to about 400k or so). When I delete pics and restart the phone, memory comes back to about 590k free. Sometimes I can store 7 or more pics (640x480, about 50kb each) in phone memory, sometimes it gives me the full memory error with 5 or less pics stored! Really weird...

Today i tried this trick and it worked for me.
first i failed and did it in 11 sec. it deleted just some pictures.
Later i tried it again and this time i did it in exactly 13 sec. and it deleted all predefined melodies, games, themes, sounds.
i think this is really good trick!

well there is one way to free up memory, just by doing a master reset. the problem is that if you ever opened up an MMS that was on the phone, it takes up memory, which CANNOT BE RECOVERED. the only way is to do a master reset. it worked for me!
