The Samsung PM-A740 is decent for the money. Unless you need a PDA, it works well.

I think Samsung has better features than Sanyo, but the guys in the stores think the Sanyos are better phones. For instance, my sanyo 8200 has dedicated hot buttons on the front that are not programmable to things like "downloads" and "text messaging" when I'd rather change them to things I can use like "calendar" or "calculator" or "alarm" but they are not changable. Samsung, on the other hand, allows for that kind of thing to be changed. Also, if my mom is programmed into memory slot 15 all I have to do is dial 15 and it calls her on a Samsung. Not true on a Sanyo. You can only do that using keys 2 thru 9, so you are limited for speed dialing. Got to go into the menus. The voice dial thingy on my 8200 rarely understands me. So, personally, I think Samsung has a better idea.

My vote is for Sanyo. I have the Sanyo 7400 and love it. Fav. Phone ever owned. Granted i never sprung for anything over 200$ (well i think i paid 240 for sony ti 62 when it was first released) but - this phone owns the sony. hands down. never owned a samsung - cannot compare.
